EVENT FORMAT

Duration: 2-6 hours (adjustable). Most college events run 3-4 hours.

Team size: 1-4 members per team. Solo participation also supported.

Organizer gets: Admin dashboard with live solve tracking, hint guide with progressive hints for each stage, flag reference sheet, event reset capability.

FAQ
Do participants need cybersecurity experience?
No. Stages 1-3 are beginner-friendly with clear instructions. The difficulty ramps gradually. We include a hint system for organizers to help stuck teams. Most participants with basic computer literacy can solve 3-5 stages.
What infrastructure do I need?
None. Rick-Shield runs on Vercel (free tier) with Upstash Redis (free tier). No servers to manage, no Docker, no VPNs. Participants access everything through their browser.
Can I customize the challenges?
The Enterprise tier includes custom challenge creation. For Pro events, you can customize the branding, team structure, and event duration. The challenge content itself is fixed but covers a wide range of skills.
How does anti-cheat work?
Multiple layers: proof-of-work prevents brute force, HMAC-signed tokens prevent flag sharing between teams, rotation tags expire every 90 minutes, and honeypot flags detect cheaters. The admin dashboard flags suspicious activity.
Can I run multiple events?
Yes. Each event uses a separate deployment. Reset the database between events via the admin dashboard. Enterprise clients get isolated instances with separate analytics.
